Maxime Exler

Maxime Exler is a French perfumer from the south of France, whose childhood steeped in Mediterranean landscapes and scents deeply nourished his olfactory sensibility. Trained at the prestigious MANE perfumery school, he also enriched his path within the Symrise house before returning to MANE as a fully fledged creator. His signature stands out for a narrative, textured approach, where each fragrance tells a story through a demanding selection of rich, complex raw materials such as oud wood, saffron, black tea and cardamom, favouring sophisticated compositions with an often unisex character.

A rising star of contemporary haute parfumerie, he has already signed close to forty daring creations for international niche and designer houses. His virtuosity was masterfully rewarded in 2025 when his creation Caden, composed for the house of Omanluxury, was crowned Niche Fragrance of the Year. His portfolio shows a remarkable versatility and a sharp sense of modernity, illustrated by captivating successes such as Naked Laundry and Black Karak for BORNTOSTANDOUT, Chapter 1 for Ajmal, and Oud Bakhur for the house of Assaf.
