Dominique Ropion is one of the greatest contemporary Master Perfumers, celebrated for his prodigious technical precision and his almost architectural approach to olfactory creation. Trained at the legendary Roure Bertrand Dupont school in Grasse, this meticulous craftsman built his career on the pursuit of perfect balance between often extreme or opposing accords. Nicknamed the "master of flowers", he is world-renowned for his bold treatment of floral notes, never hesitating to overdose them majestically, with an avowed fondness for tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom, all structured on deep woody or animalic foundations. Working within the IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances) composition house, he is today regarded as a true genius of olfactory formulation.

His portfolio is a veritable pantheon of modern perfumery, bringing together both global blockbusters and absolute masterpieces of niche perfumery. He created timeless designer classics such as Alien by Mugler, La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme, Amarige by Givenchy and the Y line by Yves Saint Laurent. Yet it is within haute parfumerie, and especially through his historic collaboration with Éditions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, that his talent shines with the most virtuosity. There he signed essential monuments for lovers of rare essences, like the mythical Portrait of a Lady, the lush Carnal Flower and the hypnotic Promise, definitively confirming his status as a legend in the industry.

Anne Flipo is a French master perfumer at IFF and one of the great floralists of her generation, with a deep love of natural raw materials.
